The spirit of enterprise

What a night
Leeds hosted a special evening at the House of Lords. We were joined by enterprising alumni – many of whom started their businesses whilst studying at Leeds – to celebrate the University’s fresh approach to the spirit of enterprise.

How was the reception?
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the House of Lords. You helped make this an alumni reception that we won't forget.
If you attended the event, your insight will help us plan future events. If you haven't already done so, please share your thoughts about our House of Lords reception

Leading on enterprise

The University has a bold vision to be the UK’s top university for student enterprise by 2030.
At Leeds, we believe that graduates with enterprising skills have a greater chance of long-term success.
We want to introduce new models of learning across campus. We'll develop entrepreneurs, not just start-ups. They'll be the type of people who will learn and start again if their first business fails.
Alumni with enterprising skills will power our future economy and societies.
And, we practice what we preach. The value of our work in enterprise speaks for itself. Since 2019, the University of Leeds has created spinouts which have employed over 12,000 people, had a turnover of £968.7m; and attracted external investment of £142m.
