Tracy Ireland, Fine Artist
Tracy is a graduate of Manchester School of Art. She originally trained as a printmaker but now makes mixed media pieces.
She is fascinated by the results that can be achieved by using different layers and contrasting mediums, and finds that portraiture is a good vehicle for exploring the use of combinations of materials and textures. The final pieces can swing from the representative to the experimental.
Tracy is also interested in arts of all sorts in communities and regularly designs stage sets for community theatre. She has recently worked on a co-created graphic novel with service users at a community centre and food bank in Salford.
Her previous commercial projects have included designing tour merchandise for rock bands, and illustrations for TV.
Tracy’s I’m Still Me paintings
Portraits and figures always tend to emerge in Tracy’s work, which is why the I’m Still Me project was such an interesting challenge for her. Tracy produced artworks for the patients, Derek and David, and the Maxillofacial Prosthetist, Sabah.
