Melvin Sanicas

Awarded for being named as one of the Filipino heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic, Melvin Sanicas (PGCert Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Management 2010) became one of the country's go-to experts for Covid-19 and vaccine information.

Cainã Perri

Global finalist
Social Impact

Cainã Perri (MEd Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages 2018) has been awarded for creating professional development opportunities for over 20,000 English language teachers in Brazil.

This will improve students' employability and potential earnings, helping to reduce poverty which is especially important as prominent studies indicate that countries proficient in English as a second language have better economies.

Giovanni Pittiglio

USA

Giovanni Pittiglio (PhD Medical Robotics in 2022) was awarded for his work in medical robotics and his commitment to impact. He harnessed the power of research and science to make meaningful change to dramatically reduce the need for invasive investigation for cancerous and heart related diseases.

Naveen Bhateja

Business & Innovation
USA

Naveen Bhateja (MBA 2007) was awarded for improving diversity, balance and equality in the workforce. At a time that Covid-19 created so many challenges globally, his work to establish supportive systems, staff and skills proved vital.

Shamsuddeen Aliyu

Finalist
Business & Innovation
Nigeria

Shamsuddeen Aliyu (MSc Medical Imaging 2014) was recognised for his work to establish multiple hospitals in Nigeria and provide supportive machinery, expertise and consultants. His work will provide vital support in enhancing the health and wellbeing of fellow Nigerians, as well as increasing knowledge amongst future medical professionals.
