A community committed to sexual violence prevention
Meet the people showing up against sexual violence in Leeds and beyond
Introduction
When people hear the words ‘sexual violence’ they often think of physical things like sexual assault and abuse. But sexual violence is much more – it’s embedded in the ways we think, talk, and act. We're all impacted by sexual violence, and it's up to us all to work together to make positive change.
In 2024, we launched Show Up for Leeds, our award-winning sexual violence education and prevention campaign. Created in partnership with experts, staff, students, and LUU, the campaign is designed to educate and empower our students to make Leeds a safer place for everyone.
But our community has been at the forefront of sexual violence prevention in Leeds and beyond for far longer.
This collection of stories celebrates the inspiring contributions of staff, students, and alumni who are leading this important work on campus and across the UK.
